2009 Hanse 540e

The Hanse 540e is a 52-foot fiberglass cruising yacht designed by Berret-Racoupeau, combining performance sailing with substantial comfort and offshore capability. Built in 2009 with epoxy vacuum-infused hull construction, this example has been continuously refined and upgraded throughout its life as a first-owner, non-chartered boat. The design delivers strong bluewater characteristics alongside the spaciousness and systems redundancy needed for extended cruising or liveaboard use.

Accommodation comprises four double cabins, each with a private en-suite bathroom, plus four total heads. The interior is fitted with comprehensive climate control via three air conditioning units. The large teak cockpit features an integrated refrigerator table, sprayhood, and Bimini cover with LED lighting. A hydraulic bathing platform with remote control and boarding ladder serve the transom. Deck and side decks are finished in teak, with a targa arch incorporating a crane system and seating.

Power comes from a main engine that was fully overhauled in 2024, paired with a 7 kW whisper generator also overhauled that year. A folding propeller is fitted, with bow and stern thrusters (Jet-Thruster 90 and 75 models, installed 2016, batteries renewed 2023) for maneuvering. Sails include main, jib, and code 0, with electric genoa furling controlled from the cockpit. Rigging includes a hydraulic backstay tensioner and upgraded mast wiring.

Navigation and surveillance are handled by a full Raymarine system: two Axiom 7 displays at helm stations (2023), an Axiom 12 Pro at the chart table (2022), 27" navigation display, and 24" cabin displays. Four Mobotix surveillance cameras, including a masthead and 360° salon camera, are integrated with a central onboard server and network. Energy independence is supported by eight 75 Wp Solara solar panels, three 1 kW inverters, and upgraded battery banks. All seacocks were renewed in 2025. A tender with electric outboard and a stainless steel anchor on 100 m chain (2023) complete the outfit.
