2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 DS

The 2008 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 DS is a 45-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat designed by Philippe Briand, featuring the distinctive double-cabin layout that defines this model. The boat is rigged with roller furling mainsail and genoa, suited to short-handed sailing. Power comes from a single 75 hp Yanmar diesel engine with less than 1,000 hours of use.

The accommodations comprise three staterooms and two heads. The boat is outfitted for extended cruising with substantial electrical capacity: six 100 amp marine batteries (one dedicated to the engine, five for house systems), a Master Volt 24/2000 inverter and charger, a Balmar 100 amp smart charging alternator, and an Onan 6.5 kW generator. A Nova Lift outboard motor lift is fitted.

Recent service and upgrades have been extensive. In spring 2024, the standing rigging was completely replaced with new stays and turnbuckles, the mast and masthead instruments were renewed with new wiring, and the shaft and cutlass bearing were replaced. The full 1,000 hour engine service was completed in March 2025 at 816 hours. Windows were rebedded in 2023 and 2025, with one window replaced entirely in 2025. All batteries across engine, house, thruster, and generator systems were replaced in 2015 and 2022. Canvas including dodger, bimini, and wheel covers were replaced in 2020.

The inventory includes an Avon Rover 315 R dinghy with a 9.8 hp Nissan outboard, two anchoring systems (44 lb Delta stainless anchor with chain and rope, and an FX Fortress anchor with mixed rode), dual docklines and fenders, a Magma stern-mounted grill, Thurston sails including a 2016 asymmetrical spinnaker, and comprehensive safety and galley equipment.
