2010 Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 MKIII

The 2010 Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 MKIII is built on a proven downeast design with fiberglass hull featuring Hinckley's DualGuard composite construction—Kevlar and E-glass outer skin, aircraft-grade balsa below the waterline, and carbon-fiber inner skin laminated with vinylester resin. The boat is powered by twin Volvo D6 diesel engines rated at 440 horsepower each, installed new in 2024 with fewer than 65 hours of operation. She cruises at 33 knots and reaches a top speed of 38 knots. The hull is finished in Flag Blue Awlgrip with a double cream bootstripe, and the deck and cabin are light cream gelcoat with teak accents throughout.

The pilothouse is the command center, featuring an open layout with a large helm station equipped with a 500 Admiral Stidd seat, teak dash and instrument pod, and a stainless steel wheel with varnished wood rim. Forward-facing windows with electric wipers and washers provide full visibility. Port and starboard settees upholstered in Sunbrella face a dining table with a custom carbon-fiber pedestal. Twin-zone air conditioning keeps the pilothouse comfortable. The 2024 electronics suite includes a Garmin GPSMAP 8616xsv multifunction display with chartplotter, radar, and sonar; Garmin autopilot and AIS; and a Standard Horizon VHF radio.

Below deck, the cabin is finished in satin-varnished cherry with a teak sole. The galley to port features cherry countertops, an undermounted sink with hot and cold pressure water, electric cooktop, microwave, and refrigeration. To starboard sits a dedicated head with a molded fiberglass sole, cherry vanity, and a Sealand Vacu-Flush toilet plumbed to a 28-gallon holding tank. The V-berth forward sleeps two and includes storage underneath and a cedar-lined hanging locker. The main cabin features a 22-inch HD LCD television and opening hatches with screens for ventilation.

Systems are comprehensive and modern. Twin 110-gallon fuel tanks provide 220 gallons total. Four electric bilge pumps with float switches and a manual emergency pump ensure redundancy. The 40-gallon fresh water tank is heated by a 6-gallon stainless steel heater connected to shore power and engine heating. Electrical power comes from an Onan 9kW generator, shore power inlet, and dual battery banks with heavy-duty alternators and a Victron Multiplus inverter-charger. A 7-inch hydraulic bow thruster and the integrated Hinckley Jet Stick control system manage close-quarters maneuvering. Recent maintenance includes new exhaust system, transmissions, fuel filters with water sensors, trim tabs, engine gauges, and generator service completed in 2024.
