The 2014 Hinckley Picnic Boat 37 MKIII combines refined downeast styling with modern performance and comfort. Built on Hinckley's proven hull form, it features DualGuard composite construction with Kevlar-E-glass outer skin, end-grain balsa below the waterline, and carbon-fiber inner skin for strength and durability. Twin Yanmar 370-hp diesel engines with Hamilton jet drives deliver a cruising speed of 28 knots and a maximum speed of 32 knots. The boat is equipped with a Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizer installed in 2024 and Hinckley's JetStick II control system with Hoverlock and heading hold.
The accommodations center on a spacious queen island berth forward with 6'2" headroom, finished in satin-varnished cherry with a gloss teak and tulipwood cabin sole. Entry flows from the pilothouse companionway past a galley to port—fitted with Corian countertops, a stainless steel sink, built-in microwave, and 12-volt refrigeration—to a private head to starboard with a Vacu-Flush electric marine toilet and hot-water shower. The pilothouse features air conditioning and heat, Stidd helm seats with leather upholstery, and optional teak decks throughout.
The boat carries extensive teak detailing, including varnished toe rails, eyebrow molding, handrails, and custom-optioned teak decks in the pilothouse, cockpit, and swim platform. The cockpit provides ample cushioned seating and storage, with a transom door leading to a swim platform fitted with a telescoping ladder. Navigation equipment includes a Raymarine Axiom Pro 16RVX chartplotter with 4kw radar and a Raymarine P70R autopilot. A Victron Multiplus inverter-charger, optional 9kW Cummins Onan generator, and dual 180-amp alternators support the electrical systems.
