This 2010 Leopard 46 is a Robertson & Caine catamaran designed by Morelli & Melvin for serious offshore cruising. The design prioritizes seaworthiness with narrow waterline entries, generous bridge-deck clearance, and a fractional sail plan paired with a raised protected helm. Unlike later models that prioritize interior volume, this boat maintains the proportions, stiffness, and sea-handling characteristics valued by long-distance cruisers and liveaboards.
The layout comprises four cabins and three heads, with a converted utility space in the forward starboard area. The galley sits up, opening to a large saloon and broad protected cockpit. Twin Yanmar 54 HP diesels with saildrives power the boat, supported by a Northern Lights 7 kW generator. A Cruise RO watermaker, 700 W solar array with Victron controller, and 660 Ah LifeLine AGM battery bank provide self-sufficiency for extended cruising. An AB 12-foot tender with an electric outboard rounds out the inventory.
Recent upgrades substantially improve both handling and capability. A 2023 in-boom electric furling conversion with new Quantum Leisure Boom mainsail simplifies sail management. An electric winch conversion, Code Zero with furler and bowsprit, and standing rigging replacement support short-handed operation. The Raymarine electronics suite includes chartplotter, Quantum radar, AIS, and autopilot. A full cockpit enclosure finished in 2025 adds weather protection.
The propulsion and systems have received consistent attention: fuel tanks were rebuilt in 2024, Flexofold folding propellers were installed in 2020, engine mounts and alternator belts are new as of 2025, and the generator underwent fuel pump and exhaust system renewal. Additional stainless handholds and upgraded locker struts enhance safety and durability throughout.
