The Seawind 1160 delux is a 38-foot sailing catamaran built from composite, powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines of 58 horsepower. The design prioritizes shallow draft and low air draft suitable for Intracoastal Waterway cruising. The sails include a three-point reefing mainsail, self-tacking working jib, furling screecher, and asymmetric spinnaker with deployment sock. All sail handling is designed for single-handed cockpit operation.

The cockpit and deck layout emphasizes comfort and gathering space. The port helm features a reversible double seat with storage below, while transom seating with removable cushions runs across the stern, centered by a large propane griddle. A distinctive trifold door system—operable by electric or manual winch—opens the saloon fully to the cockpit. The coach roof carries an extensive solar array, and the foredeck includes a trampoline lounging area with bean bags, step-down forward lockers, and a windlass with helm station controls for single-handed anchoring.

Below deck, the saloon centers on a multifunctional table on asymmetric axis that positions in four configurations and lowers to create a double berth. Opening ports throughout provide natural ventilation. The forward guest suite holds a full double berth, abundant stowage, and an ensuite head with shower. The owner's accommodations comprise a hallway navigation station with swing-out desk seat, port-side master stateroom with athwartship double berth, and an owner's head with separate shower stall. Storage is integrated throughout all cabins, and opening hatches offer cross-ventilation in every space.

The boat is equipped with twin air conditioning units (rarely needed given ventilation design), a solar-powered lithium battery bank, and lithium electronics access beneath saloon seats. Included are a large inflatable tender with 9.9 horsepower outboard and a six-person emergency life raft.
