2011 Beneteau Gran Turismo 38

The 2011 Beneteau Gran Turismo 38 is a 40-foot express cruiser built around several distinctive design features that set it apart from conventional boats in its class. The patented Air Step hull incorporates swept-back grooves and chine ridges that trap air beneath the hull, reducing drag and friction. Twin Volvo Penta D4 diesel engines with 260 horsepower each, mounted far aft as sterndrive units, deliver efficient power to a boat weighing just over 7,400 kilograms. The centerline helm position allows three people to face forward comfortably and simplifies docking by keeping the skipper equidistant from each side. Joystick control is fitted for precision maneuvering, and a bow thruster provides additional docking assistance.

The open cockpit features a large U-shaped settee to port with a high-low wood table, an aft-facing lounger to starboard, and an entertainment center including a sink, grill, and refrigerator. A 3-meter swim platform and bow sun pads provide generous outdoor space. The hardtop extends well aft, providing weather protection and headroom even with the sunroof closed.

Below decks, the layout makes efficient use of the full beam. The master stateroom amidships runs fore and aft as an island berth, convertible to a double with an insert platform. Forward is a full queen cabin accessible via privacy door, with overhead hatch and two hull-side windows. The saloon features a large skylight flooding the space with natural light, an L-shaped settee, and a dinette that converts to a berth. The galley includes a dual-zone cooktop, combination oven-grill-microwave, dishwasher, and large sink. A separate head with natural light sits abaft the galley.

The boat recently underwent extensive maintenance including new stern drives, a new air conditioning system, and a complete engine service by Volvo Penta, with zero hours logged since completion. Navigation and engine displays include a Raymarine Axiom chart plotter, radar, echo-sounder, VHF radio, and speedometer. Additional systems include an air conditioning unit, diesel generator, teak decking and swim platform, and a full cockpit cover.
