2011 CDK Technologies MULTI ONE DESIGN 70 – MOD 70

This 2011 CDK Technologies MOD 70 is a 69-foot composite trimaran built to the Multi One Design class specifications. The MOD 70 was developed from lessons gained in the earlier ORMA 60 trimaran racing class and represents a purpose-built design for offshore performance sailing. The boat carries a single Volvo diesel engine and features the distinctive wide beam of 55 feet characteristic of the class's three-hulled configuration.

The MOD 70 class was created to establish a one-design racing platform where international teams could compete on equal terms in offshore events. This particular example is the fifth hull built in the class and carries the name LIMOSA, which was previously campaigned as Spindrift and Mana. The boat embodies the collaborative vision of its designers and the standards that have made the MOD 70 class known for high-performance ocean racing.
