The 2012 Hylas 56 is a German Frers-designed sailing yacht built by Queen Long Marine in Taiwan. Hand-laid with Twaron-reinforced fiberglass, vinylester resin, and watertight bulkheads, she represents the breed's offshore pedigree and seagoing capability. Her Awlgrip Flag Blue hull was refreshed and re-antifouled in December 2025. The deck is outfitted with teak surfaces, upgraded stainless pushpit with integral stern seats, extended safety rails, electric Antal winches, electric traveler controls, a custom Whitlock pedestal, and a substantial Simpson electric davit system.
The sail plan and rig package anchor this yacht's cruising readiness. New 2024 Elvstrom EPEX mainsail and 140% genoa pair with a staysail, asymmetrical spinnakers, and a carbon pole. Standing rigging was replaced in 2024, and the rig features electric in-mast furling, upgraded running rigging, an internal boom preventer, and soft running backstays suited to both short-handed sailing and crew-based passages.
Below, the three-cabin, two-head interior balances owner privacy with guest comfort through an aft stateroom and forward accommodations. Rich raised-panel teak cabinetry, teak and ebony soles, and thoughtful finishes create a refined atmosphere. The galley is exceptional, with generous refrigeration, freezer, trash compactor, ice maker, and a custom La Marzocco espresso machine. The saloon provides comfortable seating and natural light, while the nav station suits long-range passage planning.
The mechanical and electrical systems support extended, independent cruising. A 150 hp Yammer diesel pairs with a Northern Lights 9kW generator, Mastervolt inverter/charger, extensive AGM batteries, 782W of Solbian solar panels, Spectra watermaker, reverse-cycle air conditioning, and bow thruster. The electronics include premium B&G H3000 instrumentation, 2022 Zeus 3S displays, HALO24 radar, Starlink, Iridium Go, and AIS, all integrated into a well-developed onboard communications network.
