2012 Ranger Tugs R-27

The 2012 Ranger Tugs R-27 is a 27-foot fiberglass trawler powered by a Yanmar 180 hp turbocharged diesel engine. The boat reaches a top speed of 26 knots and offers the kind of flexible interior design Ranger Tugs are known for. Twin bow and stern thrusters with joystick control and hydraulic steering make handling straightforward in tight spaces. The hull has been professionally painted with Awlgrip, and the engine recently completed a full 1000-hour service in August 2024, including new motor mounts, bilge cleaning, and replacement of hard-to-reach hoses.

The open cockpit spans nearly 50 square feet with a bimini cover and includes a transom door opening to a wide swim platform fitted with safety rails and a stainless folding ladder. A 7.6-foot Saturn inflatable dinghy with a 2.5 hp electric outboard comes with a Weaver davit system. An electric windlass with a Rocna anchor, 50 feet of chain, and 150 feet of rode handle ground tackle.

Below, the layout centers on a two-cabin design. The owner's forward cabin features a V-berth with filler cushions and custom yacht bedding. The midship saloon includes a desk-and-seat area that converts to sleeping berths, and the salon table also converts to a double bed. A single head with an electric toilet, shower, and hot and cold water completes the facilities. The galley has a double burner electric stove with oven, microwave, and Nova Kool refrigerator with freezer. Reverse-cycle heat and air conditioning provide climate control throughout.

Electrical systems include 12V and 110V panels, a 2.7 kW generator (85 hours), a 1500-watt inverter, and solar panels with controller. Navigation and safety equipment includes a Garmin 210 VHF with AIS receiver, Garmin chartplotter with depth sounder, 4 kW radar, and autopilot. A Mase generator and full battery bank support all systems. The boat rides on a fiberglass hull with integral anchoring platform and includes a folding mast and comprehensive spare parts.
