The 2013 Sabre 38 Salon Express is a downeast-style cruiser built on a fiberglass hull with a 13'4" beam and moderate 16-degree deadrise. Twin Volvo diesel engines produce 600 horsepower and cruise at 25 knots. The boat displaces 21,500 pounds at half load and carries 300 gallons of fuel, 100 gallons of fresh water, and a 40-gallon holding tank. An optional berth converts the main salon to sleep two additional guests, bringing total accommodations to six. Maximum headroom throughout is 6'6".
The interior features a cherry wood finish with an Ultraleather-upholstered lower lounge, electric sunroof with shade and screen, and custom spread and pillows. A 2,800-watt inverter/charger, central vacuum, Fusion Marine stereo, and single Seagull water purifier are installed. Anti-skid coating protects the foredeck, side decks, coach roof, aft cockpit, and hardtop. Accord shades outfit all opening ports. Factory options include a molded electronics mast for the hardtop, fixed hull side portlight, additional dimmer switches, searchlight, dual chrome Kahlenberg horns, and hot and cold transom shower with fresh water washdown forward.
The boat shows 432 original engine hours and has been winter-stored indoors since new. The hull received an Awlgrip finish in Flag Blue in fall 2017. Major service was completed in 2021 at 378 hours, including removal and inspection of heat exchangers. A Reverso oil change system and Volvo Active Corrosion Protection simplify maintenance. Detailed engine hour, travel, and maintenance logs have been kept since launch.
