The X-Yachts XC 38 is a 38-foot fiberglass sailing yacht powered by a single 40 hp Volvo diesel engine. Built in 2013, she has been maintained with consistent attention to both systems and hardware, with significant components upgraded over the past several years.
Recent investments include a new rudder and upper and lower rudder bearings installed in 2019, followed by replacement of the saildrive seal in 2023. The electrical system was overhauled in 2022 with three 130 Ah service batteries, a 55 Ah start battery, Victron charging controller, and solar panels added. Navigation equipment includes a Raymarine Axiom 12 plotter installed in 2022. The boiler and port water tank were both replaced in 2023.
Canvas and sails have been renewed recently: a new bimini with integrated sunshades and a new sprayhood with sunshade for the plexiglass were fitted in 2024, along with a new laminated mainsail from Wittevrongel. A new lazybag was added in 2025. The yacht has a 12.5-foot beam and a diesel auxiliary engine suitable for cruising.
