2014 Back Cove 37

The 2014 Back Cove 37 is a fiberglass downeast yacht built on proven construction methods. Powered by a Cummins QSC 8.3L diesel engine rated at 600 horsepower, it cruises at 25 knots and reaches 29 knots at full throttle. The engine was recently repowered and has only 8 hours of run time. Twin Sidepower thrusters and a bow-mounted electric windlass enhance handling and docking maneuvers. Navigation and helm systems include a Raymarine 12-inch Hybrid Touch MFD with autopilot, an ICOM VHF radio, and dual Stidd 500N captain's chairs with full instrumentation and controls within reach.

The open layout flows seamlessly between the pilothouse and expansive single-level cockpit, with wrap-around seating and a centerline transom door leading to the swim platform. Below deck, the accommodations follow a traditional downeast style with a queen island berth forward—accessible from both sides—paired with generous storage, hanging lockers, and sheer lockers. A galley to port includes a Kenyon two-burner cooktop, Vitrifrigo refrigerator and freezer, microwave, and large stainless steel sink. The enclosed head sits to starboard with a separate shower stall, vanity, and proper ventilation.

The cabin interior features varnished teak trim, off-white Herreshoff-style joinery, and Teak and Holly laminate sole throughout. Four opening port lights with screens, three Lewmar hatches with shade screens, and overhead LED lighting with dimmer controls create an airy, well-lit space. Air conditioning and heat serve both cabin and helm deck. A Kohler 6.0 kW genset and robust electrical infrastructure including dual 4D AGM house batteries, shore power, inverter, and comprehensive control panels support extended cruising.

The hull exhibits careful construction with VIP resin-infused foam core sandwich structure, PVC foam stringers, and white iso-NPG gelcoat with graystone non-skid on walking surfaces. Teak accents stripe the cabin sides, and the boot top receives Awlgrip finish. Custom 316L stainless steel perimeter rails, molded composite bowsprit with electric anchor roller, and self-bailing cockpit demonstrate quality detailing. Recent hull and cabin polishing has been completed.
