The 2014 Ranger Tugs R-27 is a 27-foot fiberglass trawler powered by a single 200 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine. The design prioritizes open cockpit space—nearly 50 square feet of aft deck—which is 25 percent larger than the R-25 and allows straightforward engine access while isolating cabin noise.
The cabin layout emphasizes entertaining and daytime cruising. The forward V-berth accommodates two adults and stretches over 6 feet 5 inches in length. A hydraulic-piston dinette table converts between dining, lounging, and sleeping configurations. The galley includes a sink, refrigerator, microwave, propane stove and oven, and an inverter. A starboard seat and footrest in the galley provide additional cabin seating; these can be removed if preferred. The boat features a marine head and glass vessel sink with shower. Built-in seating replaces the standard midship cabin, expanding guest comfort during day trips. Additional storage is distributed above and below deck.
The boat has been maintained on a lift in fresh water since new. It is trailerable and designed for overnight trips alongside regular day boating and entertaining.
