The 2016 Ranger Tugs R-27 is a 27-foot fiberglass trawler powered by a single 200 hp Volvo diesel engine. The design provides nearly 50 square feet of aft deck space, positioning the engine well away from the cabin to minimize noise. The boat comes equipped with bow and stern thrusters, both operable by remote control, along with a remote-controlled windlass, autopilot, and spotlight.
The cabin layout centers on a midship office with desk and seating that converts into a two-berth sleeping area. Forward, the V-berth sleeps two adults and spans over 6 feet 5 inches in length. A dinette table mounted on a hydraulic piston transforms between dining, lounging, and sleeping configurations. The galley includes a sink, refrigerator, microwave, propane combination stove and oven, and an inverter. The head features an electric flush toilet, glass sink, and shower.
Standard systems include a diesel furnace and bus heater for comfort, a dinghy on davits with propane outboard, transom door, and both raw and fresh water washdown. Electrical infrastructure comprises four 31-series batteries, 30-amp shore power with smartplug, and a solar panel with controller. Navigation and communication equipment includes a Garmin VHF radio and a Garmin GPS, fishfinder, and radar combo unit. Additional equipment includes trim tabs, a cockpit enclosure, and a portable BBQ.
