2014 Ranger Tugs R-27

This 2014 Ranger Tugs R-27 is a fiberglass trawler built for cruising efficiency and comfortable coastal exploration. Powered by a single Volvo Penta D3 diesel engine producing 200 horsepower, the boat runs at 7 knots on just 2.5 gallons per hour, and reaches 13 knots at full throttle. The engine has logged 1,103 hours. Bow and stern thrusters simplify maneuvering, while a hydraulic steering system and Bennett trim tabs round out the handling package.

The cabin layout maximizes living space within the 27-foot hull. Forward is a vee berth measuring 6 feet 5 inches, with two filler cushions and an overhead hatch for ventilation. The main salon features a booth-style dinette that converts to a double berth, with five overhead hatches and opening windows. A dedicated midberth cabin provides a double berth alongside an office space with retractable desk. The galley includes a two-burner LPG stove with oven, microwave, and AC/DC refrigerator. A full head compartment has a 12VDC toilet, 30-gallon black water tank, glass sink, vanity, and pull-out shower wand.

Systems throughout reflect thoughtful specification. A 2000-watt inverter delivers AC power off-grid, supported by newly installed batteries in 2025—one starting unit, two house batteries, and one thruster-dedicated battery—all managed by isolator switches and a remote volt monitor. A ProMariner charger and onboard solar panel maintain charge. A Webasto diesel furnace and Red Dot cabin heater provide year-round comfort. Navigation and communication include a Garmin 7212 radar/GPS, Garmin GHC-10 autopilot, Garmin VHF radio, and Fusion entertainment system. A Lewmar electric anchor windlass, davits, and inflatable tender complete the cruising package. The hull was bottom-painted in July 2023 with updated zincs installed in 2024.
