The 2015 Ranger Tugs R-31 CB is a 31-foot fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising while remaining trailerable. Powered by a single Volvo D4 diesel engine producing 300 horsepower, it cruises at 13 knots. The command bridge model features a retractable flybridge with electronic controls at both upper and lower helm stations, allowing the boat to be towed without modification. Dual bow and stern thrusters provide precise maneuvering in tight quarters.
The boat accommodates two cabins and two heads. The forward stateroom features an island berth with an en suite head and shower. A midship stateroom contains a double berth served by a day head. The galley and lower helm station are positioned to maximize interior space, with a starboard door providing direct access from the helm to the side decks. Ample deck space includes a retractable foredeck table with seating, a wraparound cockpit with foldable seating, and a full flybridge.
Recent maintenance and upgrades include new house batteries, a Starlink satellite dish, an AIS transmitter, a galvanic isolator, replacement of the plow anchor with a Rocna model, and new engine zincs. The engine was serviced in fall with the impeller replaced the previous summer. Equipment added includes a 2.5 hp Honda outboard for the tender, a center seat for the inflatable, a Magma grill, and a kayak rack awaiting installation. A trailerable inflatable dinghy is included.
