2016 Amel 55

The Amel 55 is a 2016 composite sailing yacht built for extended cruising. At nearly 57 feet with a beam of over 16 feet, she carries a single 110 hp Volvo diesel engine and features the distinctive hardtop design that defines this model. Her construction and scale make her well-suited to ocean passages and varied sea conditions.

The interior comprises three cabins and three heads arranged for comfortable cruising. The layout includes a two-cabin accommodation plan with private bathrooms, plus a separate skipper's cabin with its own head. The saloon is appointed with a 32-inch LCD television and serves as the hub of the living space. Galley amenities include an electric cooker, Nespresso machine, watermaker producing 240 liters per hour, and a second deep freezer. Climate control throughout the boat combines 220V air conditioning and heating in each cabin and the saloon, supplemented by Aerotherm diesel heating.

The yacht carries substantial sail plan upgrades, including a second electric staysail of 22 square meters with Reckman furler and a complete free-flying furling Gennaker of 125 square meters. Twin anchor systems stand ready: a primary set and a secondary anchor configuration with 100 meters of 10mm stainless steel chain. The propulsion package features a variable pitch feathering propeller and a Spurs propeller line cutter for safety.

Electronics and power systems reflect serious cruising capability. Navigation equipment includes Furuno Navnet TZT2 radar-plotter with 15-inch touchscreen and repeaters, AIS transceiver, and Navtex weather fax. Communications options encompass VHF radio with additional handset and loudhailer, Icom 801 SSB transceiver, and Iridium Pilote satellite phone. Power generation comprises an 11 kW Onan diesel generator, two 24V/200W solar panels on davits, two flexible solar panels on the roof, and a Watt & Sea wave generator. An 8-person Zodiac life raft in container, Highfield dinghy with 15 hp Suzuki outboard, and electrical davits complete the inventory. The yacht includes comprehensive covers and cushioning throughout.
