The 2016 Aquila 48 is a fiberglass power catamaran built around extended cruising and live-aboard comfort. Twin Volvo D6-330 diesel engines deliver 660 horsepower combined, with the port engine at 2,758 hours and starboard at 2,754 hours. The 48-foot hull spans 23.5 feet across the beam, providing the stability and spacious feel that defines the design.
The salon and galley feature 360-degree sightlines, opening the interior to natural light and views. Four en suite cabins with private heads and ample headroom accommodate extended stays, while the aft cabins offer flexible bedding—convertible between a full size or two singles. A 16-kilowatt generator, watermaker with freshwater flush, and chilled-water air conditioning support self-sufficient operation.
The flybridge is fitted with a centralized helm station offering excellent visibility, two sun pads, and an electric grill. A covered forward cockpit provides weather protection, and access to the bow runs port and starboard around the large sun pad. The dinghy platform includes a davit system with electrical winch for easy deployment and retrieval.
Navigation and monitoring equipment includes Raymarine systems throughout: Evolution autopilot with P70 control, I70 multifunction display, E125 charter plotter on the flybridge, CAM200 aft camera, and 55US VHF with remote microphone. The boat underwent a $150,000 refit 18 months prior. Generator hours stand at 18,330.
