The Aquila 48 is a 2016 power catamaran built for extended cruising and liveaboard comfort. Twin Volvo D6 diesel engines, each rated at 330 horsepower, provide efficient propulsion across its 48-foot length and 23.5-foot beam. The fiberglass hull draws between 3'7" and 3'8", making it well-suited to shallow-water exploration. Fuel capacity is 356 gallons with 206 gallons of fresh water storage.
The interior comprises four private en-suite cabins, each with dedicated heads and ample headroom throughout. The aft cabins feature convertible berths that can be configured as twin or full beds. A 16-kilowatt generator supplies onboard power, with a chilled-water air-conditioning system and watermaker providing comfort in all climates. The freshwater flush system preserves tank capacity during extended passages.
The flybridge is the focal point of outdoor entertaining, featuring a central helm station, wet bar with electric grill, two sun pads, and internal stair access. Forward of the cabin, a covered cockpit provides shaded seating. A dinghy platform and electric davit system simplify launch and retrieval operations.
Navigation and communication systems include a Raymarine suite: E125 chart plotter on the flybridge, Evolution autopilot with P70 controller, I70 multifunction display, VHF radio with remote microphone, and aft camera. The generator backend was rebuilt 18 months ago, and the boat underwent a $150,000 refit at the same time. Both engines log approximately 2,800 hours.
