This 2016 Lagoon 42 is a fiberglass catamaran built on the maker's most successful design. Twin Yanmar diesel engines of 114 horsepower each deliver a cruising speed of 6.5 knots and a maximum speed of 7.5 knots, making the boat capable and efficient across varied conditions.
The layout comprises three cabins and three heads, accommodating families and groups comfortably for extended cruising. The catamaran's 42-foot length and 25-foot beam provide the wide, stable platform the type is known for, with generous deck space and interior volume.
Significant maintenance and upgrades were completed in December 2024. New hatches were installed throughout; the hull received antifouling treatment and prop work. Both engines were serviced, sail drive seals replaced, and the sail drive units fully serviced. New bilge pumps were fitted to both hulls, and a new pole and fittings installed for the wind generator. The electrical system received a New Zealand warrant of fitness, with a new shore cable socket and extended breaker. Bathroom taps were renewed, duckbills replaced in all toilets, start batteries installed, and safety equipment refreshed with new first aid kit, flares, and fire extinguishers. The entire boat was polished from bottom to top.
