2016 Libby Downeast Lobster

This 2016 Libby Downeast Lobster is a 41-foot working boat powered by a Cummins QSC 8.3L 500 HP diesel engine with 3,900 original hours. The engine drives through a ZF 2:1 reverse gear and R.E. Thomas dripless stuffing box to a 30-inch four-blade left-hand propeller. The boat cruises at 15 knots while burning 12 gallons per hour, with 320 gallons of fuel capacity split between two new fiberglass tanks. A 2½-inch stainless steel shaft transmits power underway.

The deck is equipped for lobstering work, featuring a 14-inch hydraulic picking winch mounted on davit, a new PTO for pot hauler operation, four new washdown pumps, and an under-deck floodable lobster tank. Steering is via stainless steel dual ram system with a new stainless steel rudder. A new cutlass bearing and new fuel lines support the propulsion system, while an electric oil change pump simplifies maintenance.

Electronics include a Simrad EVO3 multifunction display, Simrad radar, Simrad AP-48 autopilot, two VHF radios, and a Furuno seawater temperature gauge. Power is supplied by four lithium ion batteries and a 3,000-watt inverter. Solar panels support the electrical system, and high water and LED lighting round out the onboard systems.
