The Amel 50 is a French-built bluewater cruiser designed for extended ocean voyaging. The hull employs vinylester resin construction with laminated bulkheads, creating a rigid, torsion-free structure. The deep cockpit features a fixed doghouse above the helm station, and the deck includes eight hatches and seven portholes that flood the interior with natural light. The boat received the European Yacht of the Year 2018 award in the luxury cruiser category.
Below decks, the interior combines Indian rosewood cabinetry with white panel coverings, light laminated floorboards, and leather appointments throughout. Three cabins and two heads provide accommodation for extended cruising. An array of systems supports both comfort and seaworthiness: a Volvo Penta diesel engine of 110 hp, diesel generator with 8 kW output, watermaker producing 100 liters per hour, air conditioning, diesel heating, and washer-dryer.
The rig is configured for single-handed operation, with an electric furling genoa, self-tacking staysail featuring electric furling, and in-mast furling mainsail with electric outhaul. Three electric winches ease sail handling. Navigation electronics include two chart plotters, radar, autopilot, AIS transponder, and VHF radio. Additional equipment includes a bow thruster. The hull carries an anthracite metallic finish. This is a first-owner yacht that has been well maintained.
