This 2017 Looping 50 is a composite catamaran built with Kevlar reinforcement throughout the hull. The design prioritises light weight alongside generous, bright interior volumes and effective technical choices for extended cruising. At just under 50 feet long with a 26-foot beam, the boat combines the stability and space typical of quality multihulls with straightforward, purposeful equipment.
The layout includes three cabins and two electric heads, supported by a 660-litre fuel capacity and 700-litre water tanks. Power comes from twin 34 hp Mitsubishi diesel engines. The boat carries a rigid bimini and illuminated cockpit with dining table, a 30 kg Spade anchor with 70 metres of chain (updated 2025), and an electric windlass rated at 1500 watts. Below deck are a refrigerator, freezer, five-kilogramme washing machine, oven, and a 100-litre-per-hour watermaker.
Sail plan consists of a 75 square-metre mainsail with lazy bag (2026), a 34 square-metre self-tacking jib, and a Code Zero added in 2023. The boat is fitted with five winches, a boom preventer, and folding Gori propellers. Navigation and autopilot systems include a Garmin suite with Halo radar fitted in 2023, plus VHF and ocean radio. Solar panels rated at 1200 watts charge 24-volt lithium batteries installed in 2022, with the engine battery replaced in 2023. A Zodiac tender with 20 hp Suzuki outboard is included.
