The Solaris 68 RS is a performance cruising yacht built in 2017 by Solaris Yachts to a design by Javier Soto Acebal. At 68 feet, she combines a fiberglass hull with carbon reinforcements and a full carbon deck laid with teak. The raised saloon design places accommodations and systems beneath the main deck, freeing the cockpit and saloon for function and sight lines. Her carbon mast and standing rigging support a comprehensive sail plan that includes a powered furling jib, removable furling staysail, and Code Zero, all managed by Banks Sails carbon and dyneema sails and Harken powered winches.
The three-cabin, three-head interior arranges the owner's cabin forward with ensuite heads, crew berths in the forepeak with dedicated heads, and two additional cabins aft, each with ensuite facilities. The raised saloon offers excellent visibility and houses the galley forward and dinette with side sofas. Walnut joinery and abundant natural light define the interior. A full range of systems supports extended cruising: Mastervolt lithium service batteries, reverse cycle air-conditioning and heating, a Schenker reverse osmosis watermaker, dishwasher, wine fridge, washing machine, and satellite television. Navigation relies on B&G and Simrad electronics including H5000 processing, Zeus3 plotters, radar, autopilot, and AIS.
Power comes from a Yanmar 190 hp diesel engine with a four-bladed Ewol titanium propeller and retractable bowthruster. An Onan generator provides independent electrical power. Substantial maintenance was completed in 2023 and 2024, including a new Yanmar engine installation, complete overhaul of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, rig removal with nondestructive testing and full service of standing rigging and running rigging, propeller and shaft-line factory service, and renewal of anchor chain and various seals. The boat includes a tender and outboard.
