The Lagoon 42 is a 2018 catamaran designed by VPLP with a modern profile and flowing deck lines. Twin Yammer diesel engines of 90 horsepower each drive the boat to a cruising speed of approximately 6 knots, with a maximum speed around 7.4 knots. The hulls are fiberglass, and the 42-foot length with 25-foot beam provides the wide platform characteristic of the Lagoon range.
The cockpit features an uninterrupted level from the aft platform through to the saloon, served by a large glazed door spanning the full width of the coachroof. The helming station sits at the coachroof bulkhead with a composite bimini and sliding panel for sail visibility. A self-tacking jib and aft-positioned mast consolidate handling operations in one location. The suspended transom steps create a generous boarding platform.
Below deck, the layout offers six cabins with four heads. The aft cabins feature island berths with ensuite bathrooms and separate showers; forward cabins provide side access. Cabin windows and vertical glazing in the coachroof flood the interior with natural light. The U-shaped galley is fully appointed with generous counter space and storage, oriented toward the cockpit for easy flow between cooking and outdoor living.
