The Leonardo Yachts Eagle 44 is a 44-foot sailing yacht designed in collaboration with Dykstra Naval Architects, drawing inspiration from the classic racing J-yachts of the 1930s. Built in fiberglass with a modern keel shape and vacuum-injected epoxy laminate construction, she combines elegant traditional lines with contemporary technology. A single 20 hp Volvo diesel sail-drive provides auxiliary power. The yacht features a powerful rig paired with a robust modern rudder configuration, making her responsive and enjoyable under sail.
The cockpit is the yacht's centerpiece—spacious and well-appointed with long benches, comfortable cushions, and enough seating for up to eight guests. A mahogany table with integrated sink and bar serves as the social hub, while four large lockers provide substantial storage. The helm is equipped with a mahogany and stainless steel steering wheel, positioned winches for easy reach, and controls for the furling jib and Leisurefurl boom, all supporting single-handed operation.
Below deck, the cabin houses a large V-shaped double berth and a discrete toilet. The interior is finished in white woodwork with mahogany trim and an Alcantara ceiling, creating a refined, classic aesthetic. A flush-mounted deck hatch provides natural light without disrupting the clean deck profile. Throughout the yacht, high-quality materials—mahogany, stainless steel, and luxury fabrics—are combined with careful craftsmanship.
This is fundamentally a daysailer: a boat built for sailing performance and comfortable time spent in the cockpit rather than extended cabin living, with design and construction that prioritize both aesthetics and ease of maintenance.
