The 2018 Nautitech 46 Open is a catamaran built for extended cruising and live-aboard use. Its 46-foot length and 24.58-foot beam provide stability and spacious deck areas. The hull is fiberglass, powered by twin 114 hp Yanmar diesel engines fitted with 3-blade feathering propellers. The boat carries a comprehensive suite of systems for independent cruising: a 1200Ah lithium-ion battery bank with 5000W inverter/charger, 9kW generator, water-maker, and 1680W of solar panels including flexible roof-mounted panels. Navigation electronics include three Garmin chart-plotters, autopilot, radar, and AIS.
The accommodations comprise three cabins and three heads, configured as an owner's version. The owner's cabin features a custom full-height wardrobe with hidden storage. All spaces are served by reverse-cycle air-conditioning with soft-start capability, and dimmable LED lighting throughout. The boat includes a 7kg washer and dryer, electric fresh-water heads, UV-filtered water system with mineral filter for the galley, and additional deck water outlets for anchor and deck washing.
The open plan includes a teak cockpit table, full Flexiteak decking, and custom sunshade. Entertainment and communication systems comprise a built-in television and WiFi/LTE/Iridium antenna. Safety equipment includes a 6-person life-raft stowed at the port aft, and a 33kg Rocna anchor. The boat is equipped with a powered dinghy featuring a Mercury outboard and custom navigation lights.
Two 90Ah AGM engine batteries support the engines independently. Shore power connection is 110V. The catamaran has seen light use in the Caribbean and coastal USA waters.
