The 2019 Lagoon 50 is a 48-foot fiberglass catamaran designed for cruising and charter work. The design received significant recognition, including the British Yachting Awards Multihull of The Year in 2018 and Sail Magazine's Best Boat of The Year in 2019. Built with a broad 26-foot beam, the catamaran provides substantial interior volume and deck space. Two Yanmar diesel engines of 160 hp each power the boat, supported by full-batten mainsail, self-tacking genoa, and three electric winches for sail handling. The rig includes a lazy bag system for convenient mainsail stowage.
The interior comprises six cabins and four heads, each equipped with electric toilets and en-suite facilities. The galley is fully appointed with two refrigerators, a freezer, microwave, electric kettle, and dishwasher. The accommodations are arranged to provide privacy and comfort across the spacious main saloon and aft areas.
Onboard systems include air conditioning and heating throughout, a generator and inverter for power, 220V shore power and outlet connectivity with 12V USB charging. Navigation equipment includes VHF radio, AIS, autopilot, GPS chart plotter, compass, speedometer, and wind instrumentation. The boat features both outdoor and indoor speaker systems, with additional speakers on the flybridge.
Deck amenities include a composite bimini top, electric anchor windlass, teak cockpit with original cushions, outside shower, and swimming ladder. A dinghy with outboard engine is included. The boat has been maintained with detailed service records during its time in charter use.
