This 2012 Outremer 49 is a fiberglass catamaran built for serious offshore cruising. At 49 feet long with a 24.42-foot beam, she combines Outremer's lightweight performance design with substantial upgrades throughout. Twin Volvo D2-40 diesel engines with saildrives were replaced in 2018 and deliver reliable propulsion, supported by a fuel polishing system and alternator chargers.
The sailing rig is notably high-performance: a Lorima carbon mast with Kevlar shrouds carries North Sails 3Di main and headsail, plus a 2024 Code 55 Reacher for responsive, efficient performance. The electrical system reflects serious cruising capability, with 600 amp-hours of Epoch lithium house batteries, Victron Multiplus inverter/charger and charging architecture, a solar array, and dual autopilot computers with Jeffa drives for redundancy. Navigation and communication equipment includes Starlink, a 2020 Raymarine Axiom Pro multifunction display, radar, AIS, and updated Raymarine instrumentation.
The three-cabin, two-head layout accommodates cruising crews comfortably. Onboard systems include a Sea Water Pro watermaker producing 40 gallons per hour, a washer/dryer, and an electric windlass with a 2019 Rocna 40kg anchor. The tender package comprises an aluminum RIB with a 20-horsepower Tohatsu engine installed in 2021, and the boat carries a liferaft and comprehensive safety gear for offshore passage-making.
