2020 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 Catamaran

This 2020 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 is a fiberglass catamaran measuring 41 feet in length with a 24-foot beam. Twin Volvo Penta diesel engines each producing 134 horsepower power the hull. The catamaran features a full-batten mainsail with lazy jack, electric winches for the main halyard and jib sheet, and a symmetric spinnaker with gennaker fittings. Navigation equipment includes a Garmin Smart Cruising package with autopilot, GPS, VHF, AIS, and radar. Retractable three-blade propellers are fitted.

The accommodation layout comprises three cabins and three heads with freshwater showers. The saloon features a convertible berth arrangement with Marbel upholstery. Comfort systems include electric toilets on freshwater, a cockpit refrigerator, and a 12-volt cooler with 90-liter capacity. Power generation comes from eight solar panels totaling 800 watts supplemented by 400 watts additional capacity. A 12-volt water maker produces 105 liters per hour. A premium audio system combines Fusion and Bose components.

Exterior features include fixed bimini and cockpit shade, cockpit tonneau, synthetic teak in the cockpit and hull skirts, and a 1000-watt electric windlass. An inflatable tender of 3.4 meters with a 15-horsepower outboard is included, along with a life raft rated for 10 persons.

Recent work includes engine overhaul completed in October 2024, hull maintenance finished in February 2025, and rigging overhaul and demasting also completed in February 2025. New standing rigging was installed in January 2024 and the forestay replaced in June 2024. New symmetric spinnaker, exterior upholstery with owner's mattresses, and water maker service are among recently completed updates.
