2020 Lagoon 50

The 2020 Lagoon 50 is a four-cabin, four-head catamaran built in fiberglass with twin Yanmar diesel engines producing 158 horsepower each. The hull design emphasizes stability and performance, with a wide beam and modern rigging positioned aft for reduced pitch and simplified sail handling. The boat cruises at eight knots with a top speed of ten knots, combining efficiency with the seaworthiness expected of a larger cruising catamaran.

The deck layout prioritizes comfort and functionality across multiple outdoor spaces. A flybridge features a helm station with good visibility and a spacious modular recreation area backed by storage for cushions and gear. The main cockpit opens toward the water and includes a large modular dining zone with removable seating, while forward decking provides a dual-purpose lounge and sunbathing area flush with the trampoline. Generous under-seat storage spans the cockpit and flybridge.

Interior volumes are generous throughout. The two-level saloon concept separates a galley with cockpit access from an elevated lounge, both interconnected for flexibility. A retractable central panoramic windscreen allows natural ventilation and sight lines to the foredeck. Four cabins offer island berths, substantial hanging lockers, and open storage. Aft cabins benefit from panoramic glazing and large hull portholes in bathrooms and showers. Large fresh and black water tanks sit beneath floorboards to preserve usable cabin space.

The rigging reflects modern design principles, with a self-tacking jib for ease of handling, a large forward triangle for downwind sail options, and a main sail with high aspect ratio. The aft-positioned mast step, borrowed from racing design, reduces pitching and centers weight for improved performance.
