The 2020 Sabre 42 Salon Express is a fiberglass downeast cruiser powered by a single Volvo IPS 600 diesel engine producing 435 horsepower. With a cruising speed of 22 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots, the yacht combines capable performance with the refined engineering Sabre is known for. The hull was refinished in Flag Blue Awlgrip in late 2021 and the brightwork was refreshed in spring 2026.
The layout features two cabins and two heads, arranged with an optional dinette configuration that expands the saloon's versatility. The yacht is well-equipped for extended cruising with a 2800W true-sine wave inverter/charger, central vacuum system, and washer/dryer installed in the engine room. A Sabre fiberglass mast and Reverso oil change system are included.
Modern electronics and connectivity systems have been installed throughout, including an extensive Garmin package, KVH television, and Starlink internet service set up in 2025. The house and engine AGM battery banks were replaced in 2025. A Sureshade electric cockpit awning, canvas window covers, and Kahlenberg dual horns with controller provide additional comfort and convenience. A Freedom Lift davit and 9-foot aluminum AB inflatable dinghy with a new electric-start 9 HP outboard complete the equipment list.
The yacht has accumulated approximately 1,200 engine hours and has been actively cruised throughout New England and Florida waters.
