The HH Catamarans 50 SC is a carbon fibre catamaran designed by Morelli Melvin and built for high-performance cruising. At nearly 52 feet long and just over 24 feet wide, the boat combines responsive sailing characteristics with substantial comfort. Power comes from a single Betamarine 45 Turbo diesel engine with saildrive and 18-inch Gori propeller, paired with twin helms for dual-station control.
The interior reflects careful customization, with accommodation arranged across multiple cabins and a saloon that opens to the aft cockpit. Key systems include a 58,000-BTU reverse-cycle air-conditioning installation spanning the main salon and individual sleeping quarters, an 800-amp-hour Mastervolt lithium battery bank, and 1488 watts of solar panels. Freshwater comes from a Newport 400C water maker, and a 5-kilowatt Northern Lights genset provides backup power. Navigation relies on a B&G H5000 suite with dual 16-inch Zeus3 screens, backed by an Icom GF800 HF radio and Starlink connectivity.
The deck and rig are extensively equipped. Sail handling features six electric radial winches plus manual backup and outboard three-speed Harken systems at both helms. The sail plan includes a North 3DI squaretop mainsail, self-tacking jib, code 55, and storm jib. A 6.5-kilowatt bow thruster with Jefa drive aids maneuvering. The anchor setup comprises a 33-kilogram stainless steel Rocna, secondary anchor, and electric windlass with chain counter.
Additional features include a washing machine and dryer, Webasto wine chiller, 48-inch smart television, underwater transom lighting, swimming ladders fitted to each hull, asymmetric davits for a tender, and a full safety package. The boat was built in 2022 and has passed the typical settlement period for a new catamaran, with reported resolution of early commissioning issues.
