2025 Shuttleworth 52 AeroRig

This 2025 Shuttleworth 52 AeroRig is a new composite catamaran designed by John Shuttleworth and built by Pedigree Catamarans to ABYC standards. The hull incorporates advanced materials—Airex foam, epoxy, E-glass, Kevlar, and carbon fiber—ensuring durability without rot risk. At 52 feet long with a 32-foot beam, the design provides substantial interior volume and stable cruising characteristics enhanced by the innovative AeroRig system, which features a freestanding, stayless mast with roller-furling mainsail built by Forespar. Twin Volvo Penta 59 hp engines with feathering props and Sail Drives supply propulsion, supported by 170 gallons of fuel capacity across two tanks.

The saloon showcases teak joinery throughout, with a large settee and dinette to port, a centerline console with integrated storage, and a well-appointed galley to starboard featuring high-end appliances and ample counter space. Expansive windows flood the interior with natural light. The accommodations comprise four staterooms and four heads; aft cabins feature queen berths while forward cabins offer doubles. Cabinetry is finished in metallic silver PPG accented with teak, padded vinyl wall coverings, and Berber carpeting complement Karadon countertops.

Deck features include a hardtop over the cockpit, a stainless steel goalpost arch supporting davits and traveler, dual bow trampolines, twin anchor windlasses with anchors and chain, a folding beaching ladder, and flush-mount Lewmar Series 60 hatches. A daggerboard in the port hull, controlled from the cockpit, optimizes upwind performance. Most sail controls operate via electric winch from the cockpit, making the boat well-suited to short-handed sailing. KE-4A electronic engine controls and automatic fire suppression complete the systems package.
