The 2022 Lagoon 42 is a modern catamaran designed by VPLP, featuring flowing curves and an accelerated bow profile that emphasize dynamic performance. The design balances sleek aesthetics with functional layout, offering a fresh evolution of the Lagoon line while maintaining the builder's signature approach to multihull sailing.
The deck layout places the mast further aft and incorporates a self-tacking jib for simplified sail handling and consolidated operations. The helm station sits at the coachroof bulkhead, offering direct sightlines to the sails via a composite bimini with sliding panel, improved traffic flow between cockpit and saloon, and easy boom access. Suspended transom steps create a wide, continuous platform at the aft end. The large glazed door spanning the coachroof width opens the cockpit to the interior volumes.
Below deck, the yacht offers three cabins with double berths. The aft cabins feature island beds and ensuite bathrooms with separate showers, while forward cabins have side-access beds. Large cabin windows provide natural light and views. The saloon receives additional illumination through vertical coachroof glazing and benefits from a balanced arrangement between the U-shaped galley and seating area. The galley is fully equipped with broad work surfaces and extensive storage, oriented toward the external cockpit for ease of provisioning.
Two 114-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines power the catamaran, supported by fiberglass construction throughout the hull.
