The Italia Yachts 12.98 is a modern cruising sailboat built in 2023 with a fiberglass hull featuring sandwich resin and vinylester construction. The structural frame uses laminated carbon reinforcement, and the boat carries a T-keel with a bionic rudder. At 42.6 feet long with a 13.7-foot beam, the yacht offers a balanced platform for extended sailing.
The deck and rig are comprehensively equipped. A Selden mast carries standing rigging with a hydraulic backstay, and the boom features a Harken 6:1 traveller system with electric winches. The boat includes an anchor windlass with 50 meters of chain and a Delta anchor, a retractable bowthrust, and a sprayhood with crash bar. Halyards and sheets use Dynema, and composite steering wheels and ball-bearing blocks are fitted throughout.
Below deck, three cabins and two heads serve the interior. The main saloon features oak-effect finishes with leather accents, adjustable dinette table, and ambient lighting. A second refrigerator, hot and cold water system, holding tank, and cockpit shower are standard. An Eberspächer heating system, 220V inverter, dual 130Ah batteries, and extensive 12V and 220V outlets support extended cruising. The galley includes a three-burner stove.
Navigation and entertainment are handled by Garmin B&G systems: two Nemesis screens at the mast, two additional Triton displays, and a 9-inch Zeus chartplotter at the helm, along with VHF and AIS. A fresh epoxy primer and antifouling were applied in March 2023. Sails include a mainsail, genoa, and Code O in STR high-modulus Technora laminate.
