This 2024 Excess 14 is a four-cabin composite catamaran delivered factory-new in May 2024. At just over 50 feet long with a 26-foot beam, the boat combines cruising space with the twin-hull efficiency of the Excess design. Twin Yanmar 4HJ 57 diesel engines (25 hours) drive the yacht, paired with three-blade feathering propellers.
The layout features four cabins and four heads. The saloon includes a large galley with refrigerator, and the cockpit is appointed with a second refrigerator, extending table, composite seating, and forward balconies. Removable berths in the forward cabins and opening panels between compartments allow flexible use of space. Below-deck ventilation and a separate fresh water tank of 300 liters support extended cruising, along with a deck wash system for both fresh and seawater.
The sail plan comprises mainsail and jib in tri-radial laminate with three reefs, plus a 125-square-meter gennaker. The boat carries two electric winches, the boom features a lazy bag system, and a roof access ladder is fitted. Navigation and systems are comprehensively equipped with Garmin electronics including chartplotters, radar, VHF, and AIS. Solar panels and a desalination system support self-sufficiency, while a convertible/charger and 120-amp battery charger with automatic switching manage power. The boat also includes a 3.2-meter inflatable tender with a 6hp outboard, anchoring gear, and complete offshore safety equipment for eight persons.
