The 2025 Ranger Tugs R-25 is a 28-foot fiberglass trawler built for cruising comfort and practical water use. Its defining feature is an oversized swim step with handrails, designed to simplify boarding a dinghy, fishing, docking at low structures, and securing to moorings without risk to the outboard engine. The hull incorporates Laminar Flow Interrupter technology for smooth, confident handling in corners.
The main salon is bright and open, with a dinette that seats four or converts into a bed for two. A removable quarter berth accommodates guests or provides extra storage. The full galley includes an electric/alcohol cooktop, refrigerator/freezer combo, microwave, and sink with hot and cold water. A private, enclosed head with sink serves the cabin. The forward stateroom offers a large bed, opening hatches, reading lights, and a TV/DVD combo.
Power comes from a single 250 hp Yamaha outboard matched to the planning hull. Navigation and monitoring are handled by a Garmin 1242 XSV chartplotter with GPS and sonar, paired with Garmin xHD radar. Additional equipment includes a 175-watt solar panel with controller, lithium-ion battery upgrade, inverter, dockside air conditioning with reverse cycle heat, anchor package with 16.5 anchor and 200 feet of line, macerator, electric grill, underwater lights, and safety kit. The hull is finished in light gray with Phifertex windows.
