The Bali 4.2 is a 42-foot cruising catamaran built by Catana in France, designed by Olivier Poncin with interior styling by Lasta Design Studio. The hull uses infused GRP-PVC foam sandwich construction with anti-osmotic vinylester protection and is reinforced with profiled keels to reduce leeway. Twin Nanni 50-horsepower diesel engines with saildrive transmissions and folding propellers provide power, while the aluminum mast and rigging support a 52-square-meter mainsail with automatic first and second reefing, plus a 38-square-meter self-tacking jib with lazy-bag and lazy-jacks. The boat carries a full suite of Raymarine electronics including a 12-inch touchscreen plotter, autopilot, VHF, and AIS.
The three-cabin layout splits across both hulls: the port hull contains the owner's stateroom with island bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower and integrated washer-dryer; the starboard hull holds two additional cabins (forward double and aft island berth) with a shared bathroom. All three heads feature electric toilets, showers with ceramic-seal mixers, and natural ventilation. The saloon opens fully to the aft cockpit with tilting forward windows and lateral sliders, a corner sofa to port, club chairs to starboard, and a wood-laminate floor. The galley sits open to port with double stainless sink, three-burner gas hob and oven, 336-liter refrigerator-freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. A chart table with padded cover and stool serves as the navigation station.
Power and systems are robust: total fuel capacity is 630 liters across two tanks; fresh water totals 860 liters with pressurized pump and 60-liter electric heater. The electrical plant includes five batteries (two starting, two service at 130 amps each), a 70-amp charger-inverter, four alternators, and 400 watts of solar panels. Twin manual bilge pumps back up four electric pumps, and a 105-liter-per-hour watermaker is standard. The boat is equipped with a liferaft for eight, safety harnesses with lanyards, and a full anchor set with electric windlass.
