The 2026 Chittum 18 Laguna Madre Carbon is an 18-foot flats skiff built entirely from carbon fiber—hull, deck, console, and platforms. It runs a single Yamaha F70LB2 outboard and sits on a Ramlin single-axle galvanized trailer. The hull features a tunnel system designed for ultra-shallow draft poling, with a matte white finish complemented by Tortuga green spray rails and deck. The boat's shallow draft and low-pressure hull design minimize disturbance, allowing precision approach and stealth on the water.
The cockpit is rigged for serious fishing. It includes a 12-inch casting platform with gray sea-deck decking, a removable poling platform with a step, and a pro-grade poling platform backrest. Rod storage comprises five forward-facing conventional racks on the starboard side and three aft-facing fly rod racks to port. The console features a carbon fiber Edson steering wheel, small cooler, and includes under-gunnel courtesy lights. Seating is configured with a large rear seat cushion upholstered in pearl white.
Equipment includes a Black Bob's Action Jackplate for motor positioning, stainless steel trim tabs, a Stiffy cavitation plate, Baumann propeller, 21-gallon fuel cell, and an Optima cranking battery. V-Marine push pole holders and sea-deck non-slip surface on the poling and casting platforms complete the functional layout. The lightweight carbon construction delivers responsive handling and efficiency suited to shallow-water fishing. The trailer features a black Raptor coating, black wheels, spare tire, walk board, transom tie-downs, and a swing tongue for dry-launch capability.
