The Ranger RT178 is a 17-foot 8-inch aluminum runabout built with the same construction methods as Ranger's larger models. Powered by a single 75-horsepower Mercury Marine engine, it delivers a compact package designed for fishing and general recreation without sacrificing capability or comfort.

The layout prioritizes function and space. An eight-foot port rod locker, recessed trolling motor foot pedal, and three dedicated tackle storage areas organize gear throughout the boat. An oversized center storage box and under-deck compartments add versatility. The console features a cantilevered design to maximize legroom and can accommodate electronics up to 12 inches, along with standard gauges.

Built entirely without wood, the hull uses .100-inch aluminum with sound-deadening foam flotation throughout. This construction creates a solid, stable platform across the deck and cockpit. All-weather marine-grade carpet and premium vinyl upholstery are standard. The wide deck and cockpit provide stability and space for multiple anglers at all speeds and in varying water conditions.
