The Ranger RT178 is a 17-foot 8-inch aluminum runabout built with the same construction methods as larger models in the line. Powered by a single 75-horsepower Mercury engine, it combines fishing-focused design with practical everyday use in a compact footprint.

The deck layout prioritizes working space and storage for anglers. An 8-foot port-side rod locker, recessed trolling motor foot pedal, and three dedicated tackle compartments keep gear organized. The center storage box is oversized for additional capacity. Decking and seating use marine-grade materials—rugged all-weather carpet and premium vinyl upholstery throughout.

Stability comes from a wide deck and cockpit running bow to stern, providing secure footing for multiple passengers. The hull is constructed with 0.100-inch aluminum and filled with sound-deadening foam flotation. A fully featured console accommodates electronics up to 12 inches, gauges, and a cantilevered design that maximizes both comfort and functional space.
