The 40M Sunreef Explorer ECO is a 131-foot composite catamaran built for long-range expedition cruising with electric propulsion. Twin engines producing 1,448 horsepower drive the yacht, while an integrated solar power system—with 50kWp capacity from panels across the hulls, superstructure, bimini, and bow terrace—supports sustainable operation. The design prioritizes silent, emission-free cruising across remote waters, combining aluminum construction with advanced composites.
Interior spaces are expansive and light-filled, adaptable to different cruising plans and lifestyles. Accommodation includes a large master suite with private terrace, multiple airy staterooms, and custom-finished interiors using recycled and recyclable materials. Dedicated spaces accommodate an indoor cinema, spa, library, or gym. The yacht has seventeen heads throughout.
Efficiency systems include smart energy management, energy-saving air-conditioning, advanced watermakers, water-saving fixtures, rainwater collection, and a high-efficiency boiler with heat recovery. An ocean lounge provides a walkaround relaxation area with direct water access and generous storage for dive equipment, e-bikes, e-foils, tenders, and other gear. The full-beam aft cockpit offers extensive sun lounging and integrates a spa pool with panoramic views. The design maximizes usable outdoor space for the owner and guests.
