The Helmsman Trawlers 43E Pilothouse is a 43-foot fiberglass trawler built on an enlarged hull compared to the builder's smaller 38 model. The extended beam and increased freeboard create substantial interior volume across two staterooms, an expansive full-beam salon, and a low-rise pilothouse with excellent sightlines and open flow to the main cabin below. The pilothouse serves as both a navigation station and auxiliary gathering space underway or at anchor.

The layout includes two heads and flexible sleeping arrangements. A day head off the salon can be closed off to create a private suite, while a convertible settee provides additional guest accommodation. The full-beam salon benefits from exceptional natural light and ventilation, and the cockpit area has been enlarged to offer more working and social space.

The design emphasizes practical seamanship and safety. A flush bow, sturdy railings, and full cockpit cover protect crew and guests in rough conditions. Deep side deck footwells and secure flybridge stairs on both sides aid movement and footing in challenging weather.
