CAROLINE is a 1983 Beneteau First 38.5, a 38-foot sloop with a 65-foot rig built for racing. She draws on classic Beneteau design with a fiberglass hull, 12-foot beam, and a single 38-horsepower Beta diesel engine.
The interior includes one head with electric operation, a holding tank with macerator, and a galley fitted with a new LPG stove. Accommodations provide sleeping berths for cruising or racing crews.
Recent improvements have addressed both systems and sailing performance. The yacht features new stainless steel rigging throughout, new steering cables, new Dyneema running rigging, and new electronics with LED lighting. The main sail is a new Doyle Stackpack, paired with a Doyle 120 headsail. The dodger has been replaced, and the battery bank upgraded to new AGM units. The electrical and water systems have been renewed, including a new electric head and plumbing upgrades.
