1983 DeFever Performance Offshore Cruiser

This 1983 DeFever Performance Offshore Cruiser is a 52-foot full-displacement design built on Arthur DeFever's proven seaworthy hull. The fiberglass hull measures 16 feet across the beam and is powered by a single 320-horsepower Caterpillar diesel engine with approximately 500 hours of operation. The boat carries nearly 1,500 gallons of fuel capacity and cruises at around 8 knots, offering potential range exceeding 1,200 nautical miles. Hydraulic systems include a Naiad stabilizer setup and newly replaced hydraulic hoses and pump.

The accommodation layout includes three staterooms and two heads with two showers, sleeping seven total including the wheelhouse. A full-beam master stateroom offers abundant storage, with additional guest cabins providing comfortable cruising accommodations. The galley has been completely refreshed with modern appliances including a range, dishwasher, refrigerator, icemaker, and beer fridge. On-demand hot water serves throughout the yacht.

Mechanical systems have received substantial recent attention: all four fuel tanks were cleaned and inspected internally after fuel polishing; the sanitation system has been modernized; and the engine room was refreshed for reliable offshore operation. Equipment includes 12.5-kilowatt and 8-kilowatt generators, a watermaker, Starlink connectivity, a full-size washing machine and dryer in the mechanical space, air compressor, and various additional accessories. The Naiad stabilizers on the starboard side require attention.

Exterior updates include fresh paint. Wide, protected side decks facilitate line handling, and the flybridge and boat deck provide ample space for a tender and entertaining. The boat carries proven DeFever Performance Offshore Cruiser credentials and has served as the committee boat for numerous yacht club events and regattas.
