This 1987 Island Packet 27 is a proven blue water cruising sailboat built on a full keel with a cutter rig. The fiberglass hull spans 27 feet with a 10-foot-4-inch beam, offering solid offshore capabilities in a manageable size.
Below deck, the layout prioritizes cruising comfort with a V-berth forward, quarter berth aft, and a sliding starboard settee for sleeping. The galley includes a two-burner alcohol stove, large icebox, and double stainless steel sink. The head features an airhead composting toilet; a holding tank and marine toilet remain on board as well.
The boat has benefited from significant maintenance and upgrades. A Yanmar three-stroke diesel engine of 29 horsepower was installed in 2015. Standing rigging was replaced in 2017. The 2023–2025 work includes a dripless shaft seal, new cutlass bearing, replaced halyards and masthead sheaves, new lifelines, all lighting converted to LED, fresh water pump replacement (2019), water tank replacement (2021), holding tank replacement (2022), and rebuilt marine toilet (2022). Cabin sole and upholstery were renewed in 2017. The boat is outfitted with a Garmin chart plotter with depth and fish finder, two Group 24 AGM batteries, and manual and electric bilge pumps. An Achilles 9-foot dinghy is included.
