The 1991 Hunter Passage 42 is a 42-foot fiberglass sailing yacht designed for extended cruising and comfortable living aboard. Built with a 14-foot beam, it offers genuine interior space combined with a responsive sailing platform powered by a single 62-horsepower Yammer diesel engine.
Below deck, the yacht sleeps six with an aft master stateroom featuring its own head with tub and shower, a forward V-berth, and a convertible dinette that converts to additional sleeping space. A full-length settee to port in the saloon provides two more berths. Headroom throughout reaches 6 feet 6 inches. The galley is equipped with a gimballed three-burner stove and oven, microwave, two-basin sink, refrigerator, and separate freezer. The aft cabin also includes its own head.
On deck, the center cockpit layout runs all rigging aft for straightforward handling. The expansive cockpit includes comfortable seating, a stowable drop-leaf table, a standard arch for mainsheet attachment, and instrumental console. A built-in swim platform provides water access, and a dinghy davit system is installed for easy tender launch and retrieval. The sail plan comprises a fully battened main with two reef points and lazy jacks, storm jib, and 100 percent genoa.
The yacht carries a Northern Lights 6-kilowatt diesel generator with fewer than 500 hours of running time. Electronics include a Garmin Map 4208 GPS, GHP12 autopilot, GWS10 wind and speed instruments, M504 VHF, and NMEA 2000 network for depth, speed, and temperature. A West Marine Rib 350 dinghy with 20-horsepower Honda engine and davit system are included. Spare parts aboard include new potable water and macerator pumps, electric head assemblies, alternator, and Rule bilge pumps. A programmable dry bilge timer was installed for routine maintenance.
