1995 Beneteau First 42s7

The First 42s7 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built on a foundation of structural integrity and thoughtful design. The hull features laminated inner moulding and a discontinuous rod rigging system with swept-back spreaders supporting a keel-stepped mast. The distinctive "double-body" coachroof brings the shroud chainplates toward the boat's centerline, improving the genoa angle and upwind pointing ability while enlarging the foredeck and allowing two fixed portholes to flood the salon with natural light. All control lines lead aft to the cockpit with Spinlock stoppers, and the full-battened mainsail stows neatly between lazyjacks with a quick-deploy cover.

The deck layout prioritizes working ease and clean aesthetics. Dorade vents on the coachroof prevent sheet entanglement when positioned for sailing, and the uncluttered cockpit puts all essential systems within reach. The foredeck space accommodates easy sail handling and anchoring operations.

Below deck, the interior follows a design by Philippe Starck, offering either two or three cabin layouts finished in pear or cherry. Natural light comes through numerous opening ports and hatches, while a nav station with a large chart table and removable hinged electronics panel serves as the command center. The fully-equipped galley includes a gimballed stainless steel stove with oven, large refrigerator, double sinks, and extensive storage.

The yacht is powered by a single 50-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, delivering a cruising speed of 7 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots.
